Major Fighters in UFC Fight Night Moreno vs. Erceg
Brandon Moreno
Despite the three losses in his last six fights, Brandon Moreno remains one of the very best in the flyweight division. The former champion lost his belt to Figueiredo though he’s still 2-1-1 against him. His other 2 recent losses were split decisions against Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Royval, and his most recent fight was a dominant win over Amir Albazi. He’s now 10-5 in the UFC and has a professional MMA record of 22-8-2.
Steve Erceg
Erceg fought for the flyweight title in only his 4th UFC fight, losing a unanimous decision against Pantoja, although it was close. His most recent fight was less close, however, as he got stopped by Kai Kara-France in the first round when they fought at UFC 305. He’s now 3-2 in the UFC, while his overall record is 12-3. Interestingly, 50% of his wins have come by way of submission, although he hasn’t pulled one off in the UFC yet.
Manuel Torres
Torres fought most recently at UFC 306, as he was TKO’d in the first round by Bahamondes. Before that, he had been on an impressive win streak of 3 UFC fights, with each one ending in a stoppage and earning him a performance of the night bonus. His professional MMA record is now 15-,3 with 3 wins and 1 loss in the UFC.
Drew Dober
Dober has more than 20 fights in the UFC, but he’s lost the last 2 occasions he’s been in the octagon and has lost 3 of his last 4 fights. Most recently, he was stopped by rising star Jean Silva due to a cut, though he won a fight of the night bonus. Overall, he has 13 wins and 10 losses in the UFC and a record of 27-14.
Brandon Moreno may have lost 3 of his last 6 fights, but they’ve all been close and include 4 title fights. His wins, including a stoppage against Kai Kara-France, have shown he’s still one of the best in the division, and he’s as tough as they come. Based on the quality of his wins, the MMA odds have him as the favourite for this matchup.
Erceg had a close fight against Pantoja but the title challenger ultimately came up short and was then stopped in his last fight. He really needs a strong win to stay in the title picture, but Moreno could be too skilful and tough for him. The odds are showing that his chances aren’t great, but anything could happen.
Torres was on a great win streak entering the UFC, showing a lot of promise as an up-and-coming fighter. However, he was stopped in his last fight, and it will be interesting to see how he responds. Many fighters turn gun-shy after a stoppage loss, but Torres has a reputation as an all-action fighter.
Despite losing his last 2 fights, Dober has opened as the slight favourite in this matchup. His experience, as well as his toughness, make him difficult to beat and a good test for any fighter looking to prove themselves.
